about

Diving Suit
Composed in 2007

This track is a transition piece between the beginnings and "phase 2" where I became more interested in recording sounds. For use in this title and many others, I had built up a bank of sounds recorded with a very poor quality microphone, and every idea that came to my mind. I remember recording the breathing sounds by blowing into a plexiglass pipe.

This is the very first version, the simplest one. Then, Dattola transformed my "Diving Suit" into his very beautiful "Spacesuit", a must-hear track on his album: urlz.fr/coh6

A wilder version has appeared in recent days on the huge compilation "Les Fourches Caudines" by the Aveyron label Arbouse Recordings; you can hear it here among a treasure trove of hidden gems: urlz.fr/cohf
